Product description

Tasting Notes:
Ink, violet color. Nose - layered and complex, evolving from minute to minute: Coffee, smoked meat, caramel with butter, vanilla, black currant jam and blueberry, black olive and spices. The body is powerful yet dense, flexible and elegant, with lots of well preserved fresh fruit in the mouth, with velvety tannins showing, yet with solid aging potential in the cellar. A wine that can be drunk now, but will keep for at least 5-8 years. Serve it with suitable dishes with intense flavors and sauces containing beef, pork, lamb or wild boar.We recommend opening the wine two hours before consumption so that the aromatic fireworks of flowers, spices and fruits can really come to the fore.

Grape variety: 50% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, 10% Syrah.

Region:
The Thracian Plain is part of the large southern Bulgarian wine region. It is well protected from cold winds north of the Balkan Mountains and further from the south central part of the Rhodopes.

Climate and soil:
Temperate with over 3,000 hours of sunshine during the year and over 110 clear days. Hot, dry summers with warm nights. Soft and warm winters without spring frosts. Sandy-loamy and calcareous soils.

Harvest:
Careful selective hand harvest in crates followed by sorting of the grapes in the winery.

Vinification:
Cold maceration at 10ºC for 8 days. Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in inox vats at a controlled temperature of 27ºC . Infusion after fermentation. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels of 225 l capacity. 24 months of aging and storage in oak barrels.

Awards:

2015 Gold - San Francisco International Wine Competition

2015 Silver - International Wine Challenge Vienna
