The secret of Rakia lies in the silver cross, which was dipped into the distillate many years ago during the production of the fiery drink to purify the spirit to perfection. The silver cross has also given the rakia a piece of the ancient Christian tradition. Nowadays, the technologists at Vinprom Karnobat use special filtering equipment made of silver, which is integrated into the distillation vessels. As an efficient antibacterial agent from nature, the silver purifies the Grape Rakia and gives the distillate a full-bodied taste and an intense grape aroma. The result is a fine spirit with a complex bouquet and pure, fruit-driven flavor.

Karnobatska Grape Rakia is produced from selected grapes of the Pamid, Rkazitelli, Dimiat and Ugni Blanc (Trebbiano) varieties. The high-quality grape material comes from estate-owned vineyards in the Thracian Plain region near the famous Rose Valley. The mild climate in the beautiful south of Bulgaria is responsible for the terroir specific characteristics of the grapes. The fully ripe grapes give Rakia a distinctive fruity and fiery taste. After distillation, Rakia is aged for 6 months in selected barrels made of Bugarian beach zha oak. The aging in the noble wood gives the traditional spirit a mild taste with distinctive oak nuances. Aging in oak barrels also intensifies the bouquet of the fiery drink and provides for its seductively shiny color.

In the glass, Karnobatska Grape Rakia reveals a straw-yellow color of particular brilliance. The Bulgarian spirit flatters the nose with a fruity, tangy bouquet. Intense grape aromas merge with delicate, wonderfully balanced wood chords to form a harmonious composition. On the tongue, the Rakia unfolds a full-bodied body full of juicy fruit.
