The grapes come from the company's own vineyards along the Kamchia River in northeastern Bulgaria. The terroir in this area is ideal for growing white wine varieties. The mild climate and the many hours of sunshine produce grapes of first-class quality. As a tangy, fruity white wine variety, Riesling provides the light-hearted, wonderfully juicy character of the spirit. The Dimiat grapes lend the high-proof specialty an unmistakable, traditional charm. Years of aging in small barrels of fine oak give the matured Khan Krum Rakia refined wood tones that soften its fiery nature and intensify the aromatic sensations. The aging in oak barrels takes 13 years.
