Product description

A fruity ruby red characterizes the glass. As a pure red wine of the Kadarka grape variety, this red wine bears witness to history. It is also known as Rose Valley Kadarka after its region of origin. This red wine is produced and bottled in Bulgaria using a traditional method from Kadarka grapes. Only a small amount of wine grows in the Rose Valley. Therefore, the name may hardly be used. Only local winegrowers and producers are still allowed to do so under current EU law, if the grapes come from the region. Sweet on the palate, it is beautifully round and smooth with intense fruit aromas of red forest fruits and cherry jam.

This fine fruity taste and its nicely integrated acidity makes it popular with all Kadarka lovers and is always an enrichment of social occasions. Its full body and the aforementioned balancing acidity make this wine an ideal companion to strong meat dishes typical of the country or to hearty cheese. Enjoy it slightly chilled at its ideal serving temperature of 16 - 18 °C.

The old wine-growing region of Rose Valley in Bulgaria is located about 200 kilometers east of Sofia in central Bulgaria. The valley is bordered by the Balkan Mountains in the north and the foothills of Sredna Gora form the border in the south. The Rose Valley stretches from east to west. It is strikingly wide and almost a plain. Decisively, the Rose Valley was formed by two river valleys. Once the valley of the Strjama in the west and the Tundscha in the east.

Archaeologists have discovered that wine has been produced in this region for six thousand years. The Thracians were expert winemakers. They settled in what is now Bulgaria and wine making and tasting were part of their cult. One of the main reasons for the international success of Bulgarian wines, such as the Original Bulgarian Kadarka - Magnum - 1.5 l, is the geographical location. The climate here is characterized by cold winters and dry, hot summers ending in a warm autumn. The favorable climate, together with the fertile soils of the land, result in optimal conditions for successful and high quality viticulture. This is also reflected in the excellent taste of the delicious wines from this region.
