Villa Melnik Orange Wine | 0,75 l

Orange Wine is a white wine, which is pressed with a special technology like a red wine. Sauvignon Blanc and autochthonous Keratsuda vines are used, which are grown with great care in the company's own vineyards near the village of Harsovo, Melnik region. The white wine grapes are fermented with the mash for 2 weeks and then rest on the lees in stainless steel tanks for 4 weeks. Contact with the grape skins gives the wine its pale orange color, intense aromas and flavors, and tannins. Whereby the grape skins and grape juice undergo cold maceration for a day and a half, and finally ferment for 10 days.

Grape variety:
85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Keratsuda.

Tasting Notes:
Soft, light orange color. Expressive complex aroma of tropical fruit, quince, pear, white cherry, freesia and acacia with hints of green fern and musk. The body is round, juicy and spicy, with a fresh taste that delights with tannins and a long and memorable mineral finish. A very complex, fascinating wine.

The key to orange wine:
The roots are in Melnik - and not only that, they are in the Zikatanov family and in the vines themselves. The desire to revive the region's winemaking traditions and create something new as well as exciting is what drives the Villa Melnik team. The key to the Orange Wine lies in the long contact of the grape skins with the grape juice and in the terroir of Melnik. The "Orange Wine" is bold and modern, but also reflects in detail the long-standing winemaking tradition in the Melnik region.
