About Nestle World (Bulgaria Ltd.)

1866
Henry Nestle is experimenting with different combinations of cow's milk, wheat flour and sugar to save malnourished babies who are allergic to breast milk. All this happened in the mid-1960s. After rescuing a baby that does not drink breast milk or the substitutes that existed at that time, it soon became clear how valuable Henri Nestle's product was, and after a few years it was sold in almost all of Europe. Thus begins the story of NESTLÉ!

Meanwhile, the Anglo-Swiss condensed milk company, founded in 1866 by Charles and George Page, expands its product range to include cheese and baby food. It also becomes an important competitor of NESTLÉ. In response to this challenge, NESTLÉ launches its own condensed milk. Years of intense competition between the two companies followed, which lasted until 1905 - the moment of their merger.
The last quarter of the nineteenth century marks a number of significant events that have shaped the history of NESTLÉ.

1875
In 1875 Daniel Peter discovered the first milk chocolate that combined milk with cocoa powder. He then founded a company that became a world-renowned chocolate producer and merged with NESTLÉ in 1904.

1882
In 1882 the Swiss miller Julius Maggie created a herbal product - easy to prepare and very quickly absorbed by the body. His instant pea and bean soups are the heart of Maggie and Company's creation. At the end of this century, Mr. Maggie's company offered not only soups, but also broths, sauces and spices.

1914 - 1918
The First World War caused great turbulence - the supply of raw materials and the distribution of products became extremely difficult. The shortage of fresh milk is enormous, resulting in increased demand for dairy products and a significant increase in public procurement. To respond to these rapid changes, NESTLÉ bought several factories in the United States and by the end of the war already owned 40 factories, doubling production since 1914. The company's product portfolio is also diverse. In addition to chocolate and condensed milk powder, since 1938 NESTLÉ has also been offering malted milk, Milo milk powder, baby butter milk powder and NESCAFÉ, which enjoyed incredibly rapid success, followed by Nestea in the early 1940s.

1939 - 1945
The outbreak of the Second World War had a significant negative impact on NESTLÉ as a whole - profits were cut by 30% and problems in distributing products in Europe and Asia increased. But this is not the case with NESCAFÉ! The Second World War accelerated the introduction of the company's newest product, NESCAFÉ, which was born from NESTLÉ's unique technology. In 1943, annual production reached 1 million cartons. From then until today, NESCAFÉ is the most popular coffee in the world and one of the few brands that give itself a product name (like Xerox). Thousands of people take care of the unique taste of NESCAFÉ, from the coffee producers with whom NESTLÉ has the closest relationships, to people involved in research to improve the quality of the coffee and to introduce new and unique technologies Solutions for people who offer NESCAFÉ directly to consumers.

End 2000 - From 2001
Therefore, NESTLÉ welcomed the 1980s with a renewed, flexible and targeted strategic acquisition. In 1985, NESTLÉ bought US food giant Carnation for $3 billion, the largest absorption in the history of the food industry. In 1997 NESTLÉ acquired the Italian mineral water company San Pellegrino, in 1998 the English pet food company Spillers, in 2002 the American pet food company Ralston Purina and made NESTLÉ the market leader.
More than 500 factories around the world generate a turnover of over 86 billion Swiss francs - this is how NESTLÉ started the new millennium. Undisputed market leader in the food industry. NESTLÉ was and is a company based on principles.
