Domaine Boyar

Domaine Boyar was the first private wine producer after the fall of the communist regime in 1989 in Bulgaria. It was founded in 1991 and started its operations in Sofia and London at the same time. Over the years it became a leading producer and the most important company for the trade of Bulgarian wines on the largest and most prestigious world markets.

Today Domaine Boyar continues to be the leader in the export of Bulgarian quality wines. The company's most important markets are Great Britain, Benelux, USA, Canada, Asia and the Scandinavian countries.

In the last five years Domaine Boyar has significantly expanded its portfolio and has become one of the largest importers of renowned world wine brands. Domaine Boyar is partner of the world's largest wine companies, including Constellation Brands, Accolade Wines and Barton & Guestier.

Domaine Boyar has two wine cellars - Sinite Skali, one of the largest wineries in Europe, and the boutique winery - Korten.

The Sinite Skali winery is located near the natural monument Blue Rocks, at the foot of the mountain Stara Planina, which gave its name. The region of Trakijska Nizina (Thrace Valley) is known for the production of high quality red wines. The new winery opened on September 16, 1999 with an impressive processing capacity of 16 million liters. Sinite Skali, a symbol of contemporary Bulgarian wine, is one of the most modern wineries in Eastern and Central Europe. It is realized with an investment of 30 million Euro and works with the most modern technology for wine production.

Tourist visits and tastings are organized in the Sliven branch of "Domaine Boyar International" - "Sinite Skali" winery - with or without the mediation of Bulgarian and foreign tour operators.

The factory tour as well as the tastings are conducted by qualified experts - oenologists. During the tour the tourists are briefly introduced to the technological process of wine production - raw material reception, vinification, aging in oak barrels, wine stabilization. The factory has a well-equipped and air-conditioned "House of Wine" where the tastings are held. In addition, visitors have the opportunity to buy wines from all assortments produced in the Sliven branch of "Domaine Boyar International" JSC.
