Khan Krum: an elite wine cellar

The Khan Krum Wine Cellar was opened in 1939, when a part of the winegrowers in the village of Khan Krum founded their own winegrowers' and winemakers' cooperative. A classic wine cellar with concrete basins was built on an area of 30 decares. The modernization of the wine cellar began in 1976, with technological improvements for high quality wines (AOC), modern bottling facilities and a new area for wine storage. During the years of socialism, the Khan Krum Wine Cellar was an elite wine cellar for the production of high quality white wines. Another reconstruction of the Khan Krum Wine Cellar was carried out in 2005, including the modernization of the container capacities to meet today's quality requirements of wines and further possibilities to increase the bottling capacities.
