History of Vinex Slavyantsi

According to the archaeological findings in the region and the written data, wine growing and production has been practiced since ancient times. After the liberation from the Ottoman yoke, the area of vineyards increased, wine varieties, wine and brandy trade developed. At the exhibition in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1898, the "Red Misket" of a local merchant received the first gold medal for Bulgarian white wine. After the First World War, viticulture developed further when the export of cask wines to Germany began. After 1929, local consumer cooperatives built wineries in almost all villages of the region. The wineries in the villages of Slavyantsi, Grozden and Sungurlare became separate wine cooperatives, which existed until 1950.

The company produces wine and brandy in the Sungurlare Valley region, part of the Southern Wine Region. Its success is based on the combination of tradition and modern technology.

A combination of tradition and innovation.

Wine Cellar Vinex Slavyantsi

Vinex Slavyantsi consists of four wine cellars: Slavyantsi, Sungurlare, Lozarevo, Chernitsa and Karnobat.

With highly efficient technologies and qualified personnel, the company produces about 150,000 hectoliters of wine, vermouth and rakia annually. The capacity is 300,000 hectoliters, including 200,000 hectoliters for preliminary wine production and 1,600 oak barrels with a volume of 200 dm³.

The winery has four modern technological lines for cold sterilization and bottling of dry and sparkling wine, vermouth, rakias and brandy, as well as a "bag-in-box" packaging line with a capacity of 3 to 10 liters.

Terroir around Vinex Slavyantsi

"Vinex Slavyantsi" is located in the Sungurlare Valley, a part of the "Subbalkan" wine region, the "Valley of Roses". The area is hilly with an altitude from 180 to 220 m. The annual rainfall is about 570 l / m2. Half of it fell during the vegetation period of 214 days. Winters are mild and summers are warm, with constant humidity throughout the year, due to the proximity of the valley to the Black Sea and the Balkan mountains. A weak air flow in the valley and on the slopes results in a specific heat condition, where even in winter the temperature rarely falls below 0°C. The soils are light, sandy, chestnut brown and have a relatively low soil fertility. These conditions are favorable for the production of quality grapes.
