Product description

A quality wine from the Struma Valley sub-region in the Thrace Valley from southwestern Bulgaria where Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Melnik 55 grape varieties produce fresh and fruity red wines.

Grape variety:
Ruen (100%)

Tasting Notes:
Intense, vibrant brick color.  The aroma is expressive of red fruits and green forest - cherries, sour cherries, cassis, as well as a leafy component with hints of fern and vine leaves. The body is medium, with delicious freshness and ripeness and a long finish that leaves you wanting more. A fine wine with long aging potential. For connoisseurs and wine lovers.

Harvest and aging:
Wine made from selected grapes. Light and fruity style. The wine is made from carefully selected grapes.  Aged for 18 months in new oak barrels.

Vinification:
In Villa Melnik's modern winery, the winemaking process is organized so that the flow of wine moves by gravity through all three levels of the building. This method is extremely energy efficient and allows the wine to be handled gently, without unnecessary stress on the grapes and preserving the natural structure of the wine.

The winery is equipped with state-of-the-art tanks from leading Bulgarian and international producers.
The top wines are aged in underground cellar tunnels, where a constant temperature and humidity prevails throughout the year.

Region:
The vineyards of the family winery Villa Melnik, that is located near the town of Melnik in the Thracian Plain, is one of the warmest, sunniest and also one of the most ecologically intact landscapes in Bulgaria.

Climate and soil:
A Mediterranean climate, hilly south-facing slopes Surrounded by the foothills of the Pirin and Belasitsa Mountains and the Ali Botush Landscape Reserve, and a natural breeze over the vineyards with sandy limestone soils with volcanic deposits, are the ideal conditions for autochthonous and even endemic grape varieties.

Pair With:
Game meat, pheasant, partridge, ripe yellow cheese, fatty fish - carp, fogger, salmon.
