Zagreus HandMade Mavrud is a dry red wine of the Mavrud variety. It is made from hand-picked grapes from the Zagreus winery's own vineyard in the Thracian Valley, southern Bulgaria, and comes from a protected geographical location. It is bottled in a limited edition of 270 bottles, and has further aging potential in bottle.

The oenologist responsible for this great Bulgarian wine is Grozdena Nikolova.

Tasting notes
When served, Zagreus HandMade Mavrud presents a bright red hue and a complex and pleasing nose with nuances of black fruits. On the palate, ripe tannins, a good structure and a wonderful finish are perceived. Unfiltered, noble sediment may appear.

Harvest & Aging
This HandMade Mavrud is made with the open-top fermentation method, without the addition of sulfites, and aging takes place after fermentation in Bulgarian oak barrels with batonnage 4-5 times daily.

Food recommendation
Is an ideal companion for pork, sharp cheeses, roasted vegetables and mushrooms.
